“Summer Dance”

For your consideration…….
Today is the last day of summer. Tomorrow summer will be but a memory. How will you remember it?
The beautiful art piece above is a sculptured canvas painted in oil. It was inspired by the African dancing the artist used to do. I immediately see the dancer in this piece but I also saw the dancer’s connection to Spirit and Mother Earth. I can feel the vibrancy and joy of the dancer while in this connected space.
Many of us spend much more time outdoors in nature during the summer. We feel alive, vibrant and joyous as Mother Earth is in full bloom. Everything is plentiful in summer.
On this last day of summer we being asked to go within and feel the fullness of our Spirit. Feel the vibrance and joy of the many blessings we have to carry us forward into Fall. We are being asked to feel the energy of our Spirit that propels us to our next step….our next season. That is the HOPE.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, hope by hope actions steps anyone can do……
-Meditate. Set an intention to remember your blessings.
-Drink lots of water.
-Consider dancing with wild abandon. Put on some music with a good beat and just go wild. It is good for the Spirit.
-Consider drumming. Don’t have a drum? Use a pencil or spoon, anything you have and start a beat on the table, can, pot, wash board, wood etc. Or put some rice or beans in an empty bottle and shake out a beat. Drumming is good for your soul. Your beating heart recognizes the spirit you put into your drumming. Your spirit will be immediately uplifted.
What made me smile yesterday……
-Beautiful, magnificent art everywhere you went at the Art Prize in downtown Grand Rapids, MI. What a fabulous event! If you ever had doubts of the value of art to our souls, go here. The entire city is alive, joyous and excited with the infusion of all of this Art. This is an amazing event.
-Rare time spent well with a treasured friend. Thank you, Yvette. I love you.
-Many wonderful encounters with fabulous people, strangers, reaching out to each other in joy and fun.
-Alex is in a video on the Discovery Channel. It was just too cool to see. You go, girl.
-I heard all about Mackenzie’s great swim meet and Shannon discovered timing. Yeah!
