For your consideration…

I think I have used this picture before. It is so indicative of how I love to relax….anywhere with a book and cup of coffee.

Saturday night I heard our local priest addressed his congregation with announcements. Included in them he talked about the coronavirus. Ugh…you might be thinking. I do not want to hear about it every single time I turn on the TV, radio, pick up a paper etc. and now church. But he made us laugh. He talked about just being real, getting a grip, not getting caught up in buying gazillion rolls of toilette paper. Wash your hands, keep them away from your face and stay home if you are sick….normal stuff.

Today’s message is not about the coronavirus. It was just a good example of our message….”Don’t get caught up in the hoopla.”

Remember when we were kids and a couple of our friends would get in an argument? We were expected to take sides and not talk to one of our friends. We were expected to join together against another person. This is child behavior.

Yet we sometimes still do it when we are adults. We get wrapped up in the hoopla of other people’s making. We take on their anger. We take on their views. We take on the indignation. We take on their excitement.

Our message today tells us to relax into our own selves. The only thing that is real and worth any hoopla, is what comes from our own spirit…our own soul. It is uniquely our own. What comes from our spirit is definitely worth hoopla of our own making. We don’t need anyone else to make it real or jump on anyone else’s bandwagon.

We are asked today to chill out and go with the flow of our spirit.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…”I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is the next step for my highest good and the highest good of others?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Rejoice in your own hoopla.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Breakfast with Vicki at our club.

-Sunshine and warm temps.

-I have started trimming my bushes back.

-The time change meant waking up to a full moon.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
