For your consideration…

Today’s message is about humor…not necessarily the raucous kind. No, our message specifically tells us that a little bit of humor goes a long way. It tells us that it doesn’t have to be a party, event or even having a great time somewhere for humor to make a difference.

We are reminded that just the littlest humorous quip, word, facial expression delivered into a conversation can diffuse anger, stress, discomfort etc. A little bit of humor can go a long way to changing the tone or direction of a conversation or event. Humor can relieve tension much like the released pressure valve on a pressure cooker. Humor can change negative energy into positive.

We all know those people who are over the top, like the picture above. They are disruptive and inappropriate. They just go too far. That is not what we are being asked to do. What we are being asked to take humor our of our life tool box and when those random “funnies” pop into our head, don’t censure them. Use them lighten things us and change the energy of the moment.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Use our gift of humor.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Having Alex and Moose home.

-My last hand OT. It has been awesome.

-Alex went with us to Bruce’s neurology appointment. Talk about humor.

-Shannon, Will, Mac and AJ were robbed during the night but no one was hurt and a lot more things could have been taken. This is a reminder. No matter how great your neighborhood, precautions are never a mistake.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
