For your consideration…

Most of us do not like to be vulnerable. We don’t like to appear vulnerable. Vulnerability frightens us. It makes us feel out of control.

Our message today asks us to look at vulnerability a different way. Rather than look at how is separates us, we are asked to consider how it unites us. Everyone shares the same fear of being vulnerable. Everyone.

When we consider that others are vulnerable too, we don’t have to worry about appearances. Instead we can see how it unites us in our humanity. Instead of worrying about appearing weak, we can offer our vulnerability as a gift. A gift that shows our faith and confidence. We become an example and a safe place for others to do the same.

True relationships are open, honest and welcoming. That requires being vulnerable.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Affirm…”I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Don’t be afraid of being vulnerable. Celebrate our humanity.

What made me smile yesterday…

-I was still laughing about my one and only trick or treater. I had bought a big box of king size Kit Kats. I was excited when my door bell finally rang. There was only 1 young boy with his mother. I wished them happy Halloween and gave him a candy bar for him and his mom. Then I noticed a van out front. “Oh” I said, “Take one for your driver.” He quickly came back and got it. Half way down the sidewalk, I hear him yell, “Dad, we got one for you too!”

-It was my first high school class this school year. Fun.

-Early to school and early to get home. Great for a little nap.

-Catching up with both my girls.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
