For your consideration…

This may seem like an odd picture for today’s message. I used it because it was what was used to bring in the message so I could understand it.

In our classroom we have watched two caterpillars as they created their chrysalis. When we came into school yesterday morning the chrysalis had turned from green to black…the last stage before the monarch emerges. Our students were so excited…well so was I. As they watched they kept telling me that they could see it move. I watched and did not see that so I assumed it was their excitement. When they went to library, I told the other teacher that they thought it was moving. I took another look but not the look I had before. I got down to where their eye level would be. Sure enough, it was moving. “Kathleen, it is moving.” She got up and we looked around to the other side of the chrysalis. Just as we did so the monarch broke free and emerged. It was so exciting.

Our message today tells us that we form opinions, thoughts, make decisions etc. based on what we see…from our view…from where we are sitting or standing…from the moment we are in. We are reminded that there is always another point of view that can change, color or add to the one we have formed. We are asked to be adventurous and expand out of our own little cocoon and be open to new views…possibilities.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Look form many different angles.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Of course, the emergence of our beautiful monarch.

-Releasing him so he could start his long journey south.

-AJ’s soccer game….a win and two goals for him.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
