For your consideration….

We were given ears for a purpose. The sense of hearing is a gift and if we have it we are blessed. But like everything else, it can be a double-edged sword.

We are surrounded by “noise.” Not all of it is meant for us or is good for us. It is up to us what we listen to and what we allow to be internalized. I often have this conversation when my students come to me to let me know someone has hurt their feelings.

I say, “Whose ears are these?”

“Mine.” they reply.

“Whose head are they attached to?”

“Mine.”

“Exactly, you get to decide what you want to let into your ears and what you want to push back out. Is it true?”

“No.” they say.

“Then push it back out. Don’t listen to it. You have the power to do that.”

There is a lot of noise out there. Some of it is meant for us and important for us to hear. Sometimes it is meant to grab our attention. Some of it is what others want us to hear but it isn’t something we want or need to hear.

Our question should always be, “Is it true?” If we don’t know it to be true or it doesn’t speak to our personal truth then we need to reject it and not let it in. It is important that we not let our spirit be polluted by what is needless, useless, worthless and/or untrue.

We are surrounded by noise. It is up to us what we listen to and let into our spirit. We are asked today to be vigilant.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be selective on what you allow into your spirit.

What made me smile yesterday….

-Another perfect morning for meditating outside.

-A successful shopping trip. I found exactly what I was looking for and then some.

-I can’t believe how many times meatloaf has come up in my discussions lately. It’s been strange. I decided I better make one. If I do say so myself, it was the best one I ever made. Note to self….a little bit of  pieces of dinner rolls soaked in homemade chicken broth, fresh rosemary from my yard and sage did the trick.

-Alex got off the boat with successful carrier quals and is safely back on land.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
