For your consideration….

We have all heard and probably used the phrase, “Walk a mile in my shoes.” It is a reminder for us not to judge others.

Today we are given the same phrase but asked to consider it in a different context. Rather than judge, we are asked to be grateful for the shoes we have.

In reality, like hats, many of us have many pairs of shoes. We change them for the circumstances in our life. Some are comfortable, many are not. Some we love. Some we can’t wait to get rid of. Or sometimes we hoard them even if we don’t like them. Some are to make us feel pretty while others are functional. Some are made for walking while others not so much. Some are cheap and some expensive. Some are like old friends and we can’t wait to change into them.

You get the picture on how shoes reflect our life and life style and the choices we have. We are asked today to consider, actually remember, that some people do not have those choices. Some people have only one pair of shoes or even none at all. Some people have shoes worn through but no ability to replace them.

We are reminded that we need look no farther than our closet or the shoes by our back door to find something to be grateful for.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Consider your shoes. Consider the ones you have chosen to where today. Consider why you chose them.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-Another hot beautiful day. We have had lots of sunshine this summer.

-A girl’s luncheon. Lots of laughs with Jody, Julie, Ginger, Dianne, Vickie and Debbie.

-An early evening shopping trip…successful.

-A good snooze briefly interrupted by some great pictures of Alex’s last flight in the squadron she has been in for the last couple of years.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
