Believe
Mary Engelbreit
For your consideration…….
Today’s message came in via a song “She Believes in Me” and a Mary Engelbreit picture I recognized. So there was no doubt that today we are to consider our “beliefs”.
This sounds heavier than it is. Today is not so much about our “belief system” as it is about the little “beliefs” in our ongoing daily life. It is about the belief we have in everything we do. It is about the expectations we have.
A few days ago we were reminded that we created the spirit of joy that surrounded us in the Christmas season. Today we are reminded again that we are creators. What we believe, we can create. So it is imperative the we are aware of the beliefs we are holding in our authentic self….big or small.
As I was given today’s message, I had to chuckle as was reminded of Christmas at my daughter’s. She is often referred to as lucky and she would say she follows her gut. The reality is she is intuitive and easily manifests. That is a good thing as long as you’re focused on the positive. Because she had not been feeling well, she decided to prepare some things early. Her question to me was,”Can you do mashed potatoes ahead of time?” I answered her yes. Evidently she did not believe me and researched it on-line where she found all of the pitfalls of what could go wrong. Long story short she was worried and focused that they could become “pasty” and sure enough she manifested pasty potatoes something I would not even believe was possible. Then there was the turkey. Her husband, Will, was deep frying it. He became increasingly concerned that it was too cold outside for the fryer to come up to temperature. He kept coming in and they kept consulting on the possibility that there would not be turkey for dinner. Sure enough they manifested their fears. On the other hand, as everyone else was focused on the “who cares” or “no big deal”, one of the guests says, “Hey, I have an extra ham in my refrigerator. We bought two for a party and only used one.” Perfect.
These are examples of the kinds of daily beliefs we are being reminded of today. We are reminded to be mindful of our true expectations and beware of the doubt and judgement from our ego. Have you ever heard the saying, “You get what you expect?” That is what today’s message is about.
Eliminate the doubt and infuse faith.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…….
-Meditate/pray…..know your potential.
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Notice your true feelings.
What made me smile yesterday……
-Snow. It is pretty again.
-A errand trip with Bruce. We are an efficient team.
-I finished a book and now can start on one of my Christmas presents.
-Joy.
-Catching up with my Sis.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
