Be It
For your consideration…..
My first thought is to apologize for the mess yesterday’s blog was. There was an entire blog written but for some reason it was lost and a mess occurred. I did not realize the extent of it until this morning. And, of course, my very first inclination was to fix it. I started to some extent fixing the format and then starting to write the rest of yesterday’s message. But as I did so, I realized that today’s message is really a “tack on” to yesterday’s.
Today’s message is simple to “be” who we want to be. Just be it. Of course, we first have to figure out what that is. But we don’t have to have the complete plan laid out in front of us. If we are afraid, we can take some deep breaths and let it go….and get in front of it. If we want to be happy, we can start by focusing on what we are grateful for and what in our life does make us happy. If we what adventure, we can pick some new things to try. If we want to find love, we can be love and attract it. We have all heard the saying, “be the change you want to see.” That is what we are being told this morning.
Why this message was connected to the “blue heron” message from yesterday is because the blue heron gives us an example of the how. In Animal-Speak by Ted Andrews we learn about blue herons. They have long legs to enable them to move about the earth… as we can. They provide balance as we can achieve balance and learn to stand on our own two feet. We are responsible for being who we want to be.
Blue herons are jack of all trades, unafraid to wade into new waters and follow their own path as we are encouraged to do the same. We are encouraged to follow our own wisdom and determination first and foremost. We need not be afraid to try out new and different opportunities as they present themselves or even to seek them out. As we identify who we want to be, we should just be it. Be the change we want to see. Will it happen in an instant? Probably not. But we need to take that first step and wade in.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..
-Meditate. Ask questions. Set an intention. Or just be.
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Try something new.
-Fix something broken.
What made me smile yesterday….
-Dianne and Gary our dear friends and gracious hosts.
-Jody another dear friend is visiting and picked up Dude from the vet for us. What a great house guest.
-Ahhhh, our Babycakes. What a thrill watching her fly in! And then seeing the canopy open and her step out onto the wing………just peace.
-A great ride home under beautiful skies getting warmer with each mile. That made Alex happy.
-Family reunion time with Shannon, Peanut and AJ. Boy, were they surprised.
