For your consideration……

At first I thought this message was ironic because Spring is such a busy time. But then I realized that is exactly why we are being given it. There is always a lot to do in Spring with our yards waking up and end of the school year activities. There just seems to be a lot of extra obligations we take on.

We are being told that we should take a little inventory and identify what is hanging over our heads. What is weighing us down? Is all of it necessary? Does it need really need to be on our plate? Whatever it is, if it is nagging at you, get rid of it. Either get it done  or take it off your plate. But do not let it continue to be a stressor.

And just as important, do not take on new obligations unless you absolutely have to. “No” is not a bad word. Protecting time for yourself is not selfish. If you are asked to take on a task, do not do it unless it is something you absolutely want and absolutely have the time for.  “I can fit it in.” If those words or words to that effect enter your head, this is not the time for you to assume the task. Pass on it. Maybe you are the best person for it. But that does not mean it is the best thing for you.

Spring is not a season of routine. There always seems to be a lot of “one ups”, those activities we just do one or twice a year. So we need to allow for that. We need to plan for the unexpected rather than try to pile it onto an already full plate.

Spring is beautiful. We need to be able to enjoy it and let it recharge our batteries. That is the HOPE. It defeats its purpose if we are too busy or stressed and we miss the glorious moment.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate….tap into your authentic self. What should you be doing today?

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths. Better yet go for a walk. Stroll outdoors.

-Do that “T” chart. On the left put the “must do’s” On the right the “doesn’t have to be’s”. Only focus on the “must’s”. If you have some extra time…..AND WANT TO…..you can do one of the other tasks.

What made me smile yesterday……

-A little bit of cleaning. Check.

-Sunshine….open windows and doors.

-Excitement.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Chris
