For your consideration…

My first reaction to today’s message was to think that it is similar to a few we have had of late about attitude. Isn’t this the same? I had to do a bit of googling to see the definition of both attitude and perception to define the difference. According to AI this is the definition…

an attitude is more about our evaluation of something, whereas perception is about how we initially gather information about it.

Now that makes sense. Today’s message is about perception. It is important for us to understand how we gather our information. What influences us? Certainly our perception will determine our attitude and the energy we release.

Automatically we might think about where we gather our information from to gain our perspective as being the media we interface with, our environment, the people we engage, etc. That is the low hanging fruit. It is easy to list those. But our message wants us to dig deeper to the why behind those interfaces. That is much more complex. It involves how we were raised. Who were our influencers? What was the culture? What was the state of the world?

All of this takes serious thought. Then we have to ask ourselves is any of it still valid and real? Why?

We should always be seeking our truth. Understanding how we gather information to that end is essential. We know the saying “garbage in, garbage out. This is exactly the point of today’s message. We are asked to reevaluate, verify how we gather the information that forms our perception.

There is a quote in The Course in Miracles that seems key to today’s message.

“Uncorrected error of any kind deceives you about the power that is in you to make correction.”

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Evaluate where we gather information from that forms our perceptions.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

What made me smile yesterday-

-A beautiful day. Lots of sunshine.

-I took Will and Shannon to the airport, had a mammogram, got my car washed, filled it up with gas, and did Sam’s Club shopping and was home by 10:10 AM. That’s what you call being productive.

-Catching up with Alex and Mary.

-Lisa came for dinner.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
