For your consideration…

I for one just don’t get it. I don’t understand the discord and disharmony over every little and big thing.

If we stop and think about it, most of us would say that we don’t know everything. We would say that respect shows love and disrespect absence of love. So where are we going astray? Just because we don’t agree does not make us enemies or mean that we can’t be the best of friends.

My friend, Beth, once told me that her favorite president is President Abraham Lincoln because he surrounded himself with people who did not agree with him. He surrounded himself with independent thinkers. Doesn’t that make sense? Gather as much info as you can. We a listener and a contributor. Mix it up. See things from different perspectives. How can that hurt?  Why do we have to fight to an end? Why can’t we just agree to disagree? Or maybe we could compromise to a better solution.

This fighting amongst ourselves serves no one well. No matter the cause. Authentic listening does not hurt. It is the ego that angers. It is the ego that thrives on discord and the need to engage in battle, be right, and win. The authentic self wants the highest good of self and all. That needs to be the intention in every disagreement and conflict in views and opinions.

Not all arguments or problems have to be solved now. Thoughtful exchange of ideas, steps in a positive direction is progress. Seeing and agreeing on just the next step is enough. But we can’t do that if we refuse to dialog with respect.

We are asked to set the intention of wanting what is for the highest good of all. Law and order is not in conflict with that. Listen with our heart, speak from your heart.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there an be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Set the intention.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Shopping done for Easter.

-Prescriptions finally ready and picked up.

-Picked Conner up from school and made dinner for us.

-Alex, Conner and I went to the Fox Theater to see Bluey. We all loved it. And what is not to love about the beautiful Fox Theater. Anywhere you point your camera, you will get a good picture.

-Started the second book of a series.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
