For your consideration…

We all have times of trouble, difficulties…trials and tribulations.

Often we forget this. If we listen to the media, there is an excuse for everything. There is a sense of entitlement. My life struggles are because of the race I was born into, the social economic circumstance of my life, my disabilities, terrible things that have happened to me, etc. Yes, all that may be true. We all, every single one of us, have trials and tribulations. And despite what the media says, they are ours alone to work through. They are our circumstances that we use to learn our life lessons.

It is on the other side of “tribulation” that we find “tribute.” When we work through our trials and tribulations we find the tribute, the rewards, etc. that come from meeting them head on and persevering to completion. It is through working through them that we gain experience, determination, strength, courage, confidence, etc. No one else can give us this. We have to earn it.

So as my late husband, Bruce, always said, “Buck up little buc-a-roo.” Don’t listen to anyone else. Don’t look for excuses for “poor me.” No whining, put on your adult pants, jump in and get it done, earning your blessings.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of light.”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day in Chicago…

-complete with an architectural boat tour

-seeing the window displays at Macy’s

-lunch in the Walnut room.

-Christkindlmarket holiday market

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
