How cultures around the world make decisions |

For your consideration…

I love social studies and history. It was probably my favorite subjects in school. In school we studied how the world was settled. Resources, climate, land condition, topography, etc., all play into groups of people coming together to form a community. Where there is a community, rules and laws were created so people had common expectations and they helped them live together more peacefully.

Our message today reminds us that all cultures were formed for what fit for them. It was right for them. Do they change over time? Of course. But do they change into conformity with other cultures? Not necessarily. They adapt for what works for them. They adapt for what is right for them. But most often they still hold on to many traditions because they recognize that they are part of the history that defined them. Good or bad, history is how we got to where we are today. All of it needs to be recognized and valued for the map that got us where we are today.

Different areas of the world, different countries, different states, etc. all have a culture that unites them to each other. As people of the world we need to respect it without judgement. At the same time we need to respect our own. Celebrate it for the framework that has held us together while we live and grow. There is nothing to fight about. What works for some does not work for another. That is ok. It creates a beautiful tapestry of humanity.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go there can be no darkness.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Catching up with both my girls.

-A trip to the Geek Squad gave me lots of help with a lot of little question.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
