For your consideration…

Today’s song came in via a line from the song “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls. Specifically, “I just want you to know who I am.” Frankly, I think this song is sad. But perhaps it is what we need to feel to understand today’s message.

Everyone wants to be seen, really seen. That means they want to be accepted for who they really are. They want that soul-to-soul connection and recognition. After all, there is only one of us. Shouldn’t we live that unique life?

We are asked to look with tolerance and curiosity beyond the surface. See with the soul. Likewise, we are asked to be who we are and bare our souls and make soul-to-soul connections.

We are reminded that this does not have to be a long process. It can be instant. As I am writing this, two new friends came into mind, Kathy and Heather. I sat next to them at a conference and immediately felt a connection. I immediately loved them.

Someone has to start. Someone has to be the first to go. Someone has to be an example. Someone has to kick things off. Let it be us. Let us live our soul’s life.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…”I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-See with the soul.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Some baking done.

-Taught high schoolers for the first time this year. Actually, I sat there while they did their thing discussing the book Fences

-Shannon surprised me. She was near by and we met at Caryl’s for drinks and appetizers.

-A new book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
