For your consideration…

I knew this was the image I wanted when today’s message came in. Do you love it? Pooh with his honey, Piglet with a single flower, the butterfly, a beautiful day are, sitting back to back supporting each other… all seemingly little things but they put happiness in the soul.

Our message today tells us that we often focus on the big things in search of happiness; a bigger job, a bigger house, winning the lottery, vacations, etc. Indeed all of those may or may not add joy to our heart. But what really fills it up is the little things…random act of kindness, smiles and hugs, a helpful hand, soothing words, random phone calls or visits from friends, etc. It is the little things that fill our heart with comfort and joy.

If we think about it, we know this is true. AND the really good news is, we have an endless supply to give out. We can do “little things” for others all day and all night and we will never run out. Indeed, every time we add something good and loving to another’s heart, we add more to our own.

We have a choice. We always have a choice. We are asked to consider always choosing love over hate, a smile over a frown, giving over taking, peace over fighting, kind words over unkind words, comforting over disrupting, etc.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Fill other’s hearts with comfort and joy.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Yearly doctor’s appointment and labs done as well as a flu shot.

-I got my nails done while Louie had his own trip to the groomer.

-Sigrid and I went to the Van Gogh exhibit. An extra bonus was everything in the store was 75% off. I got two wine glasses, a serving plate, a mask, and a sleep mask all for the price of one wine glass.

-A great dinner at the Corner Stone Barrel.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
