Feeding The Angry Lion
For your consideration…
I think this message has been a long time coming. It is a tough one because in all things there is often a fine line between what if good for us and what is not. Many of our messages talk about balance and we truly need balance in all things.
Some of us, like me, struggle with this. It is easy to become passionate and go all in. Often this can be a problem because we tend to wear blinders when we are hyper-focused. I know this about myself which is why I rarely watch a news channel or news radio. Still, it is hard to ignore when everywhere you turn, every device you turn on, is showing a protest of some kind. I can not remember when I turned on a device and something uplifting and positive popped up. This is just wrong. We are blessed. There is plenty of fabulous stories that could brighten our souls. This is just me.
Our message today speaks to “the mass” It speaks to people who are passionate and want to or do go out and actively protest. They feel so strongly that they must take action even if it is just to discuss it with everyone they meet. This is what they feel they must do. This is where they feel they must try to make a difference. We need people who are willing to take the hard stands and fight to make a difference. This is how the United States of America was birthed.
So what is the problem? It is the fine line of balance. How do we maintain it? How do we keep from letting passion turn to anger and eating up our souls? How do we keep our OWN passion pure? It is easy to get caught up in a movement and have people share in our beliefs. However, all too often leaders of groups dictate what the group’s beliefs and actions must be. And all too often, members have to sacrifice some of their own to stay a part of it.
Our message today cautions us against that. Be passionate. Do what we feel we must but never go against what we feel is right for the sake of the “group.” How do we know what is right? How do we maintain our balance? We go back to “INTENTION“ and ask ourselves does this feel like “LOVE?” If we sit down with ourselves and go back to the roots of our passion, we will find our love for the cause. We can dig and find why this is so. For myself, it is women and children. For some of my friends, it is animals. My friend, Julie, is passionate about Mother Earth and animals. For some people, it is the Arts.
The point is we all have things we care deeply about perhaps even to the point of joining a group and demonstrating. This is a good thing. But we are cautioned not to let our passion turn to anger. Anger burns ourselves first. Then of what use are we? Feeding a passion love is always the answer. If we are doing something that does not feel rooted in love, it is not the right thing to do.
This message feels important. I HOPE made it understandable.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…
-Affirm…“I am loved.”
-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take at least 10 deep breaths.
-Feed you passion with Love.
What made me smile yesterday…
-Another beautiful day.
-Catching up with my sister, Lori.
-After the dogs when trampling through my beautiful garden chasing a chipmunk, I think most of it may survive.
-A good book.
-Errands run.
-More grad cards made. I made 25 grad cards for Shannon. She called and is at least 2 short. I made 6 more last night.
Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
