For your consideration…

It was interesting that when I searched for a picture of “checks and balances,” 99% of what came up was about the U. S. government. Certainly, this is not the time to use it as an example of today’s message. But the above image will suffice nicely.

Our message is quite simple. Our life, each of our lives, needs checks and balances. We have had this message often, even recently. But today, we are asked once again to drill down. Be specific. Our life, our unique life, requires checks and balances unique to it. There is not a playbook, a planner, a religion, a school, a club. a program, etc. created that is perfect for everyone. It simply does not exist. We may find parts that work, parts that can be adapted into our lives but not in totality. When we try to do that, is when we run into problems, become frustrated and disappointed, and often lose sight of what the real problem or goal is.

Our unique life requires uniques checks and balances. Some of us need more sleep than others. Some of us require more downtime or work time. Some of us require a schedule while others simply can not operate within one. You get the picture. We have unique lives and we need unique checks and balances. The important thing is that we realize this and incorporate what works for us.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Check in with ourselves and figure out what we need to keep a balanced life.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A great shuttle trip to the airport and plane ride home.

-It is good to see people traveling again.

-A good book.

-A quick trip out to Shannon and Will’s before coming home. Shannon loved the things we picked out for her.

-Home, Bruce and Louie.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
