For your consideration…

Oh my, these lyrics from Irving Berlin woke me this morning. I finally had to just get up and write the message. I love when our message comes in via a song but not necessarily at 3:30 AM.

Competition is good…..sometimes. A good example is sports. When we compete against each other, we push ourselves to get better. When self-improvement is the goal, competition is a good thing.

But like anything else, balance and intention, play into competition. Competition can become negative and ugly when we are competing to try to prove ourselves better than someone else. When the goal is to show someone up or prove ourselves better than someone else, we do just the opposite. We diminish ourselves.

Trying to one-up someone on their path is a waste of our time and energy. It does not serve our purpose well. Our goal should always be to better ourselves and grow walking our own path with the opportunities put in front of us. No one can walk our path better than us and we can’t walk theirs better than them.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be kind.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Solar inspection passed.

-Dinner with Vickie (thanks for buying), Julie, Jody, and Dianne.

-An impromptu at our house after. Bob, Gary, and Jen joined us.

-Catching up with Jackie and Alex.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
