For your consideration…

First, let me say that I try very very hard to keep this blog HOPEful. I am sure that there are some of you who will question using Malcolm X. I am well aware of the controvery that has sometimes surrounded him…rightfully/wrongfully…there is no judgment here. Indeed I am sure that one of the reasons Malcom X was brought forward today was to remind us of suspending judgement. Perhaps to also remind us that we can not walk in another’s shoes to begin to imagine why they make the choices they do. And finally, perhaps to remind us that we make choices based on where we are in our life and the circumstances we are in. Sometimes they are good and sometimes we wish we could take them back and make a different one. Just saying…

So having said all of that, Malcom X was brought forward. Most often he is very stoic in his pictures. I chose this one because he is smiling, looking happy, and comfortable. I wanted a picture of him smiling because the message is about being light…being light…bringing light…seeing light in others. We have the power to do that. We have the power to see the light…the soul of others who cross our path. We have the power to bring light to them. The energy of light and love changes everything. We have the power to bring that energy each and every moment.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Affirm…“I am light and love.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Catching up with both of my girls.

-AJ has found a couple of colleges that he thinks he would be happy at and he can play lacrosse.

-A nap.

-A good book.

-We all laughted. Seriously when I have to help Bruce in the shower we all …Bruce, Louie, and I all get drenched.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
