We can never know about the days to come
But we think about them anyway
Anticipation, anticipation
Is makin’ me late
Is keepin’ me waitin’

For your consideration…

So the song “Anticipation” brought today’s message in. Only a few of the lyrics apply to the heart of our message but I still love when a song ushers in our message.

The heart of our message points out that like everything else, anticipation has pros and cons…a balance. We love the anticipation of the holidays, seeing loved ones we haven’t seen in a while, vacation, etc. On the flip side, we dread the anticipation of going places or doing things we don’t want to do.

We can’t hurry time sometimes we just have to wait. Sometimes the anticipation adds to the joy.

And sometimes it adds to the dread. So what can we do? If possible, don’t procrastinate. Meet the challenge head-on and get it accomplished, wiped off of our plate. If that is not possible, we can examine what it is exactly that we are dreading. Is there a way to turn it around, change our thinking or feeling about it? If we believe in balance, there must be a way. We are asked to open our minds and heart to see and feel clearly.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Anticipate anticipation and make it work for us.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A gentle rain perfect for all I planted on Sunday.

-A good book.

-Alex and James ultrasound…seeing our grandson.

-It is hard…nearly impossible…to make my daughter, Shannon angry enough to act out. That happened last night. What made me laugh, is that she was so mortified.

-Catching up with Lori.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
