For your consideration…

There is a lot to think about in the above quote. Today our message is about honesty…giving and receiving.

First, if we are honest, we would all say we prefer honesty. We don’t want to be lied to or misled. Also, if we are honest, sometimes we want to play ostrich with our head in the sand and prefer to be left in the dark. Yeah, honesty can be tricky.

We are asked to consider that there is lack of light and clarity when there is lack of honesty and truth. To have complete light, we must have honesty as best we know it.

Honesty can be tough to hear sometimes and tough to deliver sometimes. We are asked to think about that. When we are delivering honesty, speaking our truth, our delivery is often the key. The words we choose, the tone we use can make all of the difference. We need to be aware of how we would like to hear honesty and use that approach. Having said that, we also need to be aware that it is different for each person. It is easy with friends, more difficult with those we don’t know. Consider Presidents, each of them has a different delivery style that appeals to different types of people. Consider the bosses you have worked for. Some rub you the wrong way while some coworkers think they are great.

Being aware helps us to get past differences and hear what is honest and true.

That brings us to social media and phone calls without video, there is an element that is missing. We can not see or hear tone, facial expressions, body language etc. We have an incomplete communication. So before we leap into action, we need to seek clarification or simply not respond.

So honesty can be tricky. Still, it is always the best policy.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths….even if it is from the porch.

-Consider honesty.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A chill day.

-Catching up with Lori and Alex.

-A new recipe.

-A good book.

-Some basement cleaning. I am determined that if we are being forced to use these new giant trash cans, I am going to fill it up each and every week…..making lemonade out of lemons.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
