For your consideration…

I woke up hearing the Cher song, “If I Could Turn Back Time.” So I was not surprised that it came in as the message. The song is about regrets in a romantic relationship. But today’s message is about this part of the song, “If I could turn back time, if I could find a way”

Here we are again with the “IF.” If only, if I could, if I would have known…we can go on and on with the “Ifs.

So we are asked to consider this. What would you give to turn back time? Now we are asked to remember that life is moments, one leading to another. If we change one moment, every moment of our life is altered. Perhaps we would not have our children or grandchildren. Perhaps we would not have our job or friends. Every single moment of our lives would be different if we changed turned back time. If we turned back time and got what we wanted, where would we be today?

Regrets gnaw at us as they should because they are wastes of our time. We simply are not equipped to handle the responsibility of planning out the Universe. We can not put the pieces in place to coordinate all that happens in it each and every moment. We can not even begin to understand the magnitude of it. So once again we are asked the question. “Would we really want to turn back time, find a way to change it?” Are we willing to give up everything in our life for a new one to change that one moment or event?”

Perhaps some of us would say yes but I suspect that most of us when we weigh the price would say no. So we need to let go of regrets and focus on our next step in the blessed life we do have.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.” I am exactly where I am supposed to be.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be grateful and suspend regrets.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day and evening.

-A great day for a party.

-Having friends, Jody, Bob, Dianne, Gary, Danny, and Vickie over for dinner….so fun catching up.

-Seeing Shannon having fun.

-A great video chat with Alex and James.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
