For your consideration…

Yesterday we were asked to focus on gratitude. One of the things many of us can be grateful for is our new appreciation of socializing with each other. For most of us driveway get-togethers were not how we envisioned get-togethers with friends and family. Now it is a treat. Elbow bumps were silly. Now we are grateful for them even though we would rather hug.

Our social interaction has been so limited that we can now see and be grateful for it no matter the restricted form it is now taking. What was once taken for granted is now a gift.

Our message is two-fold today. The first is gratitude for our relationships. The second is to make the effort to safely interact with people. We are social beings needing social interaction. If we have to sit on a bench 6 feet apart (preferably outside) and talk a little louder so be it.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Make the effort to safely socialize. It is worth the extra effort.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Bruce had his 6-month checkup. It was his first experience wearing a mask. I knew we were in for a rough time when he put it on over his eyes.

-Ellies’s grad party.

-Talking to both my daughters.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
