For your consideration…

It’s Friday. It’s a good day for today’s message. We are still in our altered lifestyle due to Covid. Most of us never dreamed that this could happen or that it would last this long. Now as some schools are making decisions not to reopen, it seems like another punch in the gut. So let’s step back and regroup.

Our message today gives us a task. We are asked to create our trusty old “T-Chart.” This simple tool gives us clarity. We can label the top of the chart anything we want ie.; Covid, quarantine, shutdown, altered life. On the left side of the “T” we are asked to list pros (yes, there are pros) and on the right cons.

Some of the pros and cons will jump right out at us. Some will take some time. This is natural because they have developed as this situation has progressed. We do not have to finish our “T” chart all in one day. We can keep it and add to it. In fact, that is the second thing we are asked to do with this chart….keep it.

We are asked to keep our chart and refer to it when we are feeling down, or at the beginning of each day. Certainly, we should always refer to it at the end of each day. We have blessings. We need to focus on them…be grateful for them. Gratitude will feed us, nurture our soul, and help us to grow no matter the situation.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Focus on what we are grateful for.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-Front porch sitting.

-Lunch with Ginger.

-Catching up with Alex and Dianne.

-A good new book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
