For your consideration…

Today’s message is meant for me but I think a lot of other people as well.

We are in a unique time. This quarantine has upset our routines. For many of us, it has provided a lot of extra time that we did not expect. Certainly, if we had, we probably would have all kinds of plans in place just like we do when we have long vacation breaks. And just like in those times, we often feel disappointed in ourselves that we do not get more done. We beat ourselves up for wasting or squandering time away.

Our message today tells us to stop. Rather than beat ourselves up, we should be loving ourselves. We need to be gentle with ourselves. We are reminded to suspend judgment and focus on intention. Anything we do, even if it is relaxing, reading, napping, watching TV etc., we are reminded to do it loving ourselves. HOPEs and dreams are accomplished through love of self and others. Punishing ourselves is counterproductive.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Love, cherish, and honor yourself in everything you do.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Bills paid. Not sure why I felt like doing them early but it feels good to have the task done.

-A trip up to Croswell Cemetary to plant the family plots. The rain that followed my up there held off while I worked.

-Jackie talked to me partway there and all the way home making the trip seem much shorter.

-A video call from Alex and a phone call from Shannon.

-A good reading with Marisa.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
