For your consideration…

Hmmm….this seems like a great message for today. Actually, I feel it is God reaching out to us and reminding us of our Faith.

Absolutely everything happens for a reason. There are no mistakes.

I heard a children’s author speak during an assembly in school this week. He explained that he was so excited when he got to college. Then suddenly he realized that he had no money for those things he took for granted before he left home. Somehow he landed a job at a radio station…crisis averted. It wasn’t the job of his dreams but suddenly perks became available….like concert tickets to his favorite bands that he could never have afforded. He went on to explain how that job led to the next and the next and the next until he was where he was today….an author traveling the world which was not at all what he thought his dream was. But he loved his life.

Absolutely everything happens for a reason. There are no mistakes.

We may not agree or wonder why. We may lament and throw ourselves into despair. Or we can be excited for the blessings that await us. Yes, there are always blessings waiting for each and every one of us. We need to be open to receive them. Does that mean that there won’t be tears and sadness? No. But it does mean that there will also be tears of joy from our blessings.

Please consider that a road block may be a course correction for something better. Perhaps it is a forced downtime to spend with someone or something that really needs our attention.

Whatever…absolutely whatever….is going on. It is God’s timing and God’s plan. It is absolutely perfect. Of that we can be sure.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Be grateful for the answer…whatever it is and look for blessings in the silver lining that are most assuredly there.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths….yes still go outdoors and take in some deep breaths. You don’t need to do it in a crowd. Do it in your yard or on your porch.

What made me smile yesterday…

-An unexpected day off.

-And now many more unexpected days off…an unexpected 3 week vacation starting Monday with the schools closing to help prevent the spread of the virus.

-A good book.

-Catching up with my girls and Carol.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
