View from behind the porchswing. Pretty, pretty, pretty sweet place to swing.

For your consideration…

Know your place. That is what our message today tells us. Specifically we are asked to identify the place that brings us peace…the place that quiets our soul. If you are like me, you know it immediately. For me it is water. I feel most at peace when I am by or on the water. When I give readings or when I meditate, I have a little fountain that I turn on. If it was feasible, I would permanently live on or near water. When I vacation, I want it to be a destination where there is water.

That is me. Other people feel most comfortable hiking in nature. One of my friends specifically spends a lot of time in the woods. Still others find comfort around fire. Watching the dancing flames soothes them.

One of my friends, Marla, passed earlier this month. Her very favorite place was a primitive cottage she had on a lake in Wisconsin. Her and her husband and then her after he passed, spent their entire summer there every year. People who did not know her would probably find that surprising. She was always very “put together,”  elegant and graceful. Looking at her you would not think her happy place as being a tiny primitive cottage. Yet that was where she recharged her batteries year after year.

Perhaps you are like Marla and have a very specific place or perhaps you are like me and you need an element to define “your place.” I suspect that most of us know, if not consciously then subconsciously what our place is. Today’s message asks us to think about it because it is important that go there to think, collect ourselves, bring peace to our soul and recharge our energy. We must remember that it is not selfish to take this time for ourselves. It is for our highest good as well as the highest good of others.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Know you comforting place and make sure to spend time there.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Some more cards made.

-A good book.

-A visit from Dianne and Gary. It is always great to see them…and Bill’s hot dogs made it extra special.

-I expected gas prices to be high because of the holiday weekend. I was super surprised to see that they had gone done. See you just never know so why not HOPE for the best?

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
