For your consideration…

Today’s message is about letting stuff just roll off your back. It reminds me of the Pete the Cat story about buttons. Every time Pete loses a button readers are asked if Pete gets upset. The response is “Goodness, no. Buttons come and buttons go.” Problems come and problems go. We have lots of experience with them. Things work out. We get through them.

How we react to problems, disruptions, irritations etc. depends on how we look at them. Do we look at them and think, “Just what I need.” Do we think that our day is ruined? Or do we think of them as minor irritations that will be resolved. For me, I have to say I am pretty good with a problem or two but not so much when several problems happen one on top of the other. Personally, I must remember one problem, one moment at a time. They get solved one at a time just the way they came in.

We are asked to also consider that each problem presents an opportunity. We grow with each solution. We grow with each lesson. Problems test us, push us. We are asked to keep them in perspective. Let them come in and roll right off our back. When we don’t keep them there as a burden, we can see them for what they are and work through them.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Let problems, disruptions, irritations roll off your back.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A chill morning.

-Lots of DKG stuff done.

-Some more grocery shopping done.

-A beautiful evening to play euchre out doors.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
