“Yeah, I’ll wait for you
Should I fall behind
Wait for me
I’ll wait for you
Should I fall behind
Wait for me”
Bruce Springsteen
For your consideration…
As I often write, I love when our messages come in via a song…most especially if it is a song that I love. “If I Should Fall Behind.” is a love song Springsteen wrote for his wife. Today it is given to us to remind us of our own love for each other.
It is in our nature to be competitive. It is in our nature to want to “just get things done.” Those are good things. It spurs us to action and growth. But once again, there is a balance. The growth…the best action…the real lesson, is not about where or how fast we finish. Sometimes it is about slowing it down and “waiting and helping” someone else. The restraint is an act of kindness and love.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…
-Affirm…“I am loved.”
-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Help one another.
What made me smile yesterday…
-Fun middle schoolers.
-A half day.
-A birthday lunch for Bruce.
-Mac’s softball game.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
