For your consideration….

It seems like we are all too often hearing or saying something like these; “I had to bite my tongue.” “I’m just keeping my mouth shut.” “I’m staying out of this.” “Has common sense taken a vacation?” “This is crazy.” “Never talk about religion or politics.” “What’s the point? Nothing will ever change.”  or “Some things never change.” etc.

Most Americans take freedom of speech for granted. We simply give no thought to life without it. We are generations away from our ancestors who knew its value.

We are born with a voice. If it wasn’t necessary, God wouldn’t have given us one. Our voice, is a gift. It is meant to be used for good. Each of us has our own unique values, truth and voice to speak them. All too often it seems there is an effort to silence voices just because they are different. They voice their unique truth only to have it shouted down in an effort to force us to bury our truth.

Just because a voice is louder does not mean that it is true. It doesn’t even mean that the person(s) are even speaking their own truth. Indeed often they are parroting others.

Today’s message tells us that one sure way to know if someone is speaking their own truth in affronting views is to notice if they revert to “labels.” If we are speaking our truth, if it is authentic, it can stand on its own. When someone(s) revert to labeling someone they disagree with, we know that it is not their authentic truth. It can not stand on its own.

We are asked to own our truth and speak it with love and respect and let labels roll off of our back.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths….or go for a walk.

-Own your truth. Speak your truth. The world needs to hear truth.

What made me smile yesterday….

-A beautiful sunny day.

-Lots of writing accomplished.

-Uncle Harold had a wonderful day on an “Honor Flight. He is so deserving.

-A good walk into town.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
