For your consideration…..

There are so many great 4th of July photos out there. I was so excited to find just the right one. But in today’s meditation I was shown a pelican on a flagpole. That is pretty unusual so it was pretty clear it was meant for the message. Surprisingly I was able to actually find the above picture taken in Marina del Rey, CA.

Why did a pelican show up today? You can look them up on the internet or you can look in your Animal-Speak book (look in my reference section, it will take you right to Amazon, if you want to buy a copy). You can see what part resonates with you that would be a personal message.

What resonated to me today, what hit my gut as the intended message for today was this final paragraph in Animal-Speak:

“Pelicans, in spite of their lightness, sometimes have a difficult time taking off from the water. Still they do manage, and again we can see the correspondence to freeing oneself from that which would weigh you down. The water is a symbol of emotions, and emotions often weigh us down. The pelican teaches how not to be overcome by them.”

Our ancestors knew in their soul that every man, woman, and child deserved to be free. Free to fulfill their life lessons and dreams. They stayed true to that seed in their soul and birthed this nation.

An old story tells how the pelican wounded its own breast and fed its young on the blood. Again, the message is reminder of the self-sacrifice of many for the greater good of all.

I was very disappointed recently to learn that on of my mentors is moving to Equador because she says the energy here is too bad. I reflected on my disappointment and on why I did not feel the same way.

I was reminded that she is extremely sensitive to energy and is sick a lot. She does great work for the good of many. I was further reminded that I no longer listen to the news because I felt it affected my energy. But in spite of that there is no other place on earth where we have complete freedom to pursue and share our dreams. We have freedom to express our concerns and disapproval. We have the freedom to be part of the solution. We can take another example from the pelican. They use teamwork in fishing and they don’t compete for nest space. Thus their species is free to thrive and grow.

Today is a day to celebrate our Independence. We celebrate those who fought for the plan in their soul. We celebrate us who nourishes the plan in our own. We celebrate all that we are and all that we can be.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, hope by hope action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate for as long as you can.

-Get out and plan. Celebrate.

What made me smile yesterday….

-I was in my PJ’s most of the day.

-I slept.

-I treated myself to a Magnum ice cream bar.

-The Gordon family.

-That picture on Alex’s Facebook. Yikes!

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Chris
