For your consideration…..

Today we are being drawn to a song, “The Dance” by Garth Brooks. I have always felt that this is a love song. Indeed, it probably is. None the less we are being drawn to it on a more expanded level.

The Dance

lyrics by Tony Arata

The dance we shared ‘neath the stars alone
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you’d ever say goodbye

And now I’m glad I didn’t know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I’d of had to miss the dance

Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn’t I a king
But if I’d only known how the king would fall
Hey who’s to say you know I might have chanced it all

And now I’m glad I didn’t know
The way it all would end the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I’d of had to miss the dance

Yes my life is better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I’d of had to miss the dance

In this beautiful song we are being called to these lines,

“And now I’m glad I didn’t know the way it all would end, the way it all would go. Our lives are better left to chance. I could have missed the pain but I’d of had to miss the dance.”

And so it is. Think of the loss and pain you have experienced in your life. Think about all of the big mistakes and hard lessons you have gone through. Hard times to be sure. But was it all bad? Or think about how you hoped and prayed for something and did not get it. What did you get instead?

Every step and moment led you to who you are today. Every one of them necessary to your life purpose. You can not eliminate any one of them without the alteration of the whole you and what and whom is in your life.

Many times when we look back it is self-evident on why we had to go through something. Sometimes we never know. But can you imagine how much harder our life would be if we did know the ending. Can you imagine how hard our choices would be? Most of us would be stagnant and not evolve at all.

So let’s be happy that what we know is on a “need to know basis”. We get to know what we need to know when we need to know it. That is the HOPE.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray……tap into your real-self and bring that real-self to all you do today.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Identify at least one the thing that made you joyous today. What made you giggle or laugh?

What made me smile yesterday…..

-The sun and a beautiful long walk along the river with Dude and WITHOUT a coat. Can you believe it? Saturday our walk back was bitter cold and Sunday no coat was necessary. That is Michigan for you. Each day is a surprise.

-Lots of writing done this weekend at Stillwater.

-An early bedtime….had to make up that hour somewhere.

-My batteries are renewed. I have energy and feel accomplishment.

-Boats back on the water. Spring here we come!

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Chris
