Yesterday we saw a picture without light. Today we are being asked to consider color. Consider what your world is like with color or what it might be like without. If you can see color, it is an enormous gift. It is a gift worth noticing.
I was at a funeral a few months ago and some friends who had moved to Las Vegas were just awestruck by the green. Everywhere they went they saw green. Everyone they talked to they mentioned how green everything was. That was not an accident. Among other things, green represents healing, growth and expansiveness. Do you think this was a good reminder amongst so much grief?
My friend, Carol, and I have had many laughs because just as often as not, we show up wearing the same colors. Of course, the message depends on the color but it also represents a synchronicity in purpose and attitude on whatever we are about to do.
When geese, toads, birds etc. keep showing up, I have mentioned that there is a reason and blogged about that. It is exactly the same with color. When your attention is drawn to the color of something, or when a color keeps showing up, there is a message for you there.
How do you figure it out? You can look the meaning of colors up on-line. There are many books about the meaning of color. Be careful not to make it over complicated. WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU is what holds true. When you are seeing or reading about a color, pay attention to what rings true for you. That is the meaning for you. Write it down.
I tell you my memory is nothing to be proud of. So I have a “cheat sheet” which are actually 3×5 index cards on a ring. On them I have written the color and its meaning. When I give angel readings, I am able to stay very present with the spirit of the moment because I know these are at my fingertips. And just like anything else, just knowing they are there is all I need and I don’t have to refer to them very often. Because again, what you are feeling, your intuition, is “right” in the present moment.
Here are what the various colors mean to me. They may or not mean the same to you. You can use this as a start and then maybe try on-line. Does your list have to be complete or perfect? No, whatever feels right to you today, is. It is a work in progress just like we are.
Blue….Spirituality, Relaxation, Happiness or depending on the context it can mean Sadness, Disappointment, Emotions, Hurt, Bruising
Turquoise…..Healing, Spirituality, Calming Peaceful. Turquoise is the color of the Throat Chakra so maybe the meaning is about using or not using one’s voice
Indigo…..Spirituality, Divine Protection. Indigo is the color of the Third Eye. So sometimes it is about listening to Inner.
Violet…..Wisdom, Knowledge, Divine Protection, Innocence, Moving towards Spirit, Joy
Purple….Wisdom, Knowledge, Divine Protection. Spiritual Protection, Higher Consciousness, Royalty, Richness,
Passion. My Crown Chakra is a lavender purple color so frequently for me the message is about connection to spirit, highest self, God
Lavender….Wisdom, Knowledge, Divine Protection
Grey…..Fear, Insecurity, Lifelessness, Neutrality
Black….Unknown, Unconscious, Unknown parts of self or situation. People or things we have rejected through fear Death of old. Letting go.
White….Truth, Purity, Light of God, Christ Light, Protection, Guidance, Correctness
Brown….Grounding, Earthiness, Physical side of self, Need for Balance.
Gold…..Christ Light, Divine Consciousness, Great Treasure within, God’s Gifts/Rewards, Solid
Silver…Spiritual, Protection, Truth, Light
Red….Energy, Life Force, Fertility, Passion, Anger, Uncontrolled Emotions.Solid Energy or Correctness needed. Red is the color of the Root Chakra where we house our life energy
Rose, Pink…..Love, Beauty, Innocence, Tenderness
Orange….Energy, Peace, Balancing of peace and energy or peace and love, Vibrance, Lightness, Excitement Orange is the color of the Sacral Chakra which deals with utilization of creative force throughout one’s life and sex.
Yellow….Peace, Peace and Harmony, Lacking Courage or Conviction. Yellow is the color of the Solar Plexus our power center. The chakra where many including me feel their intuition. Sometimes it is a warning center.
Green….Healing, Growth, Expansiveness, Creativity, Connection to Nature. Green is the color of the Heart Chakra. Here we express love through action.
Rainbow….Perfect Balance, Harmony, Completion, Health, Wholeness, Good Job, Pleased Higher Guidance
Bit by bit, piece by piece, hope by hope action steps anyone can take……
-Meditate
-Take in some deep breaths outdoors.
-Start your color “cheat sheet”.
-If a color grabs your attention, notice and figure out why. Figure out your message. It is a gift. It is a blessing.
What made me smile yesterday….
-I started a new lesson…..a hard one but one I need.
-Jordan was able to figure out why we couldn’t see the entire blog when we clicked on it yesterday. It was written and posted in the morning but we couldn’t see most of it until Jordan fixed it in the afternoon. Sorry, everyone. But yeah Jordan.
-AJ was amazing in his soccer game. AMAZING. Congrats to the whole team who were just awesome.
