For your consideration…

Today’s message came in via the Lady Gaga song, “I’ll Never Love Again.” I love the song even though the subject is very sad.

Our message tells us that sometimes love does hurt. It can cause excruciating pain. Break-ups of relationships are painful. Unrequited love can be painful. The death of someone we love is painful. Our message does not minimize this pain. It acknowledges the pain but tells us that the pain is because we were blessed with a deep love. We were blessed with a real and true love not ego love. Most of us could never imagine not having had that love even though its loss is so painful.

What we do about the pain is the crux of our message today. We may feel like we need to withdraw. We may feel like we never want to take a chance on love again. We may resign ourselves to perpetual sadness and put a shield around our heart.

None of these things will help us with our pain. The only way to lessen the pain is to go through it, moment by moment. The solution is NOT to close ourselves off but instead open ourselves up to receiving and giving love.

Only love is real and only love can mend a broken heart.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths. Remember, deep breaths clear out our system, calm us and rejuvenate us.

-Stay open to giving and receiving love no matter what.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A day off.

-A good book.

-Dinner with Vicki.

-A farmers market that was open.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
