For your consideration…

I know the title and meme on the picture seem at odds with today’s message and the message seems very serious but bare with me. Today’s message actually came in through humor signaling us that we need to lighten up.

“Lie until you die.” is a joke between my friend, Jackie, and I. Many many years ago, calling long distance was very expensive. Jackie moved to Texas and we just couldn’t stay off the phone creating enormous phone bills. Knowing our partners would have issues with them, we would “lie until we died” about them until we either found a way to pay them or throw ourselves upon their mercy.

We are always encouraged to speak our truth… our authentic truth. It is essential to who we are and our life purpose. However, there are times when we can speak our truth but we don’t have to VOICE it. We can be honest with ourselves but we don’t always have to voice to others our thoughts and opinions. A good example is the old joke, “Honey, does my butt look big in this dress?” Sometimes what we think is best left unsaid. We have to be the judge of that and how we do that is ask ourselves, am I speaking in love. Is what’s coming from my mouth coming from a kind and loving heart.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Drink lots of water.

-Give voice with love.

What made me smile yesterday….

-A fun group of kindergartners with fun partner teachers.

-The rain is stopping.

-Fun with Stephanie and Pam.

-A whole night of sleep. Ahhh.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
