“When You Say Nothing At All”
Writer(s): Paul Overstreet, Don Schlitz

It’s amazing how you can speak right to my heart
Without saying a word you can light up the dark
Try as I may I could never explain
What I hear when you don’t say a thing

The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There’s a truth in your eyes sayin’ you’ll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you’ll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all

All day long I can hear people talking out loud
But when you hold me near, you drown out the crowd
Old Mr. Webster could never define
What’s being said between your heart and mine

The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There’s a truth in your eyes sayin’ you’ll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you’ll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all

The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There’s a truth in your eyes sayin’ you’ll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you’ll catch me if ever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all

For your consideration….
We are reminded today the importance of silence. Mother Teresa once said “We need silence to be able to touch souls.” Khalil Gibran wrote, “There is something greater and purer than what the mouth utters. Silence illuminates our souls, whispers to our hearts, and brings them together.”
Our message today is very important and timely. Sadly, during the joy of the holiday season, many people find themselves lonely and sad. Often it is because the miss a loved one that has passed.
We are asked to remember this. Divine love is that love the needed no words. It is the silent communication that bonded our souls forever. The same silent communication that bonded us in this life is the same silence communication that still binds us to our loved ones who have passed…..exactly the same. It never skips a beat. It goes on and on and on.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….
-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Remember the gift of silence.
What made me smile yesterday…..
-Great students. I see soooo much growth.
-Lunch with one of my favorite teachers.
-Sunshine.
-Healing.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
