For your consideration….

It seems like we recently had a message about “good versus bad,” happy versus sad” etc. The message basically told us that without one we would not recognize the other. They define each other. So isn’t that judgment?

Our message today tells us that there is a difference between opinion and judgment. Opinion notices and compares. Judgment declares something to be true.

So…what do you think about the picture above? What did you notice? I see beauty, various shades of blue water, one rock bigger than another. That is my opinion. It is what I see. Someone else notices a rough and rocky shore. They might say the water is all the same color it is the bottom of the ocean that makes the water seem different colors. Some might say it is not an ocean at all. It is a lake. Perhaps, the one rock seems bigger because it is closer or because we can not see all of the other rock. Some might think this is a very beautiful spot. Others might think it is not so special. They’ve seen better.

Opinions contrast and compare. They do not make anything true or false. Why does this matter?

We would probably all say there are big moments in our life ie; weddings, births, vacations, promotions, moving etc. We celebrate these. We declare them wonderful and special. But let’s flip the big moments around and consider divorce, deaths, vacations gone wrong, demotions or firings, letting go of what we love etc.

On any given day life can be easy or tough….it is our opinion. Our message today reminds us of that these are just moments. Without judgement they are all the same. They are a part of our life journey.

So the next time something seems overwhelming, you are really upset or mad, fraught with uncertainty etc., remember this is just your opinion. It is just a moment in time. It will pass as long as we don’t judge it and declare it so.

“Allow the dialogue to within the mind to grow friendlier and quiet.

Shift out of inner criticism and life suddenly looks very different.” Danna Faulds

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray….ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?’

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Notice your opinion but don’t declare it so with judgment.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-An easy morning.

-An easy trip to pick up Mac and AJ.

-An easy trip.

-It is soooo good to see and hug our Alex and James.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
