For your consideration….

The above picture was drawn for me last week by one of my kindergarten students. It felt spiritual to me and I immediately thought about it when today’s message came in.

Spring is a time of growth, renewal, birthing etc. We feel energized. As we move out of Spring, we can feel a little let down or overwhelmed. All of what bombarded and inspired us in the Spring can start to feel like overload….like we bit off more than we can chew.

Our message today tells us that not everything that is put in front of us is meant for us on a long-term basis. What seemed like a “good idea” can start to feel like a royal pain in the behind.

Today we are asked to do a deep dive into our authentic self and ask hard questions. What feels good and rewarding? Why? What feels like a burden? Why does it feel burdensome? Is it because it is difficult? Is it worth the effort? Why do I procrastinate? Is it because I’m being lazy? Or is it because I just don’t want to do it? It doesn’t feel like belongs in my life. I don’t see the rewards or pay off. I don’t see how I grow from it. It is keeping me from doing what I really want to do. What is is I really want to do?

We are asked to dig deep and ask the tough questions today and then clean house. Maybe something is a worthwhile cause but it is not our cause to fight. It is ok to let it go and walk away and focus on something we are more passionate about that needs our energy.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Give yourself permission to let go of what does not sit well in your authentic self.

What made me smile yesterday….

-An early morning wake up. I meditated, wrote the blog, watered my plants and showered all in time to….

-…go out to breakfast with my neighbor, Joan.

-A trip to home depot for lawn and barbecue supplies.

-A trip to the cemetery to clean up Millie’s stone and leave flowers and where I also ran into my friend Teddy doing the same for his Frank and Gary. It is always great seeing him and catching up.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
