Mercury Retrograde
For your consideration….
Are you feeling out of sorts, things not exactly going as planned, can’t get a clear picture of things or not able to communicate a persuasive argument etc.? Does it appear to you that everything is going haywire? Of course, because you are a living thing living on earth. You are part of Mother Earth’s energy and all that affects her energy including the planets rotating with us.
Right now until May 22 Mercury is in retrograde. It slows down and seems erratic. Perhaps many don’t give much thought to that but we should. Much as the moon affects the tides so the plants affect Earth and our energies. During Mercury Retrograde (3-4 times a year), communication becomes difficult…erratic. In this one we are forced to slow down at a time when we are pretty gung-ho on getting things done during spring and before summer.
The planet Mercury rules our intellect and communication. During retrograde they become dulled. We aren’t as sharp as usual and can be prone to making mistakes or not seeing things. So we want to avoid making big decisions, starting new ventures, making big purchases (especially ones that deal with transportation), big trips, buying new electronics, signing commitment agreements etc. As much as we can we should try to hold off on these types of things until after May 22.
We also want to avoid disagreements and arguments. As much as possible, communication should be done in person versus using “communication” media to avoid misunderstandings.
This all sounds ominous at worse and irritating at best. But look at it this way. We need balance in all things. Consider Mercury Retrograde as a forced time out much as we make our little ones take a rest. This time is a gift offering us the opportunity to look inward. It is a time to evaluate what we have already done or are doing. It gives us the time to look with fresh eyes and maybe see things we have missed…..reevaluate with a fresh perspective. It is a time to reorganize and create a stronger foundation and/or efficient environment. It is a time to let what no longer serves us rise to the surface for us to let go and leave behind.
Consider accepting this “down time” as an opportunity to improve all aspects of our life and making it easier, more fruitful, productive and enjoyable.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take….
-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Go with the flow of Mercury Retrograde. Consider it a blessing. Perhaps these practical tips as well as the ones above will help.
*Keep maps with you when you travel.
*Back up your hard drive….all info you don’t want lost.
*Clean closets.
*Have face-to-face conversations.
*Review your priorities and keep them in clear sight.
*Treat everything with extra care and focus.
*Avoid starting “new” things.
*Avoid big purchases.
*Take extra care to avoid arguments.
*Don’t get a tattoo.
What made me smile yesterday….

-Peanut made it back home safe, sound, excited and happy.
-Shannon experiencing and sharing random acts of kindness.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Rev. Chris
