For your consideration…..

As soon as I heard this message, I could hear my mom. As I complained about something, some injustice, she would throw this saying out. I remember as a child pausing and thinking, “huh?”

But, of course, as an adult I realize how true this is. It is in our trials and tribulations that we often find our strength. Then we move forward with more confidence knowing we are survivors and stronger until we are tested yet again and again. The cycle continues…..sometimes.

The “sometimes” is what our message is about today. We’ve had messages in the last couple of days about the importance of light. We are cautioned today to not let trials overwhelm us. We are cautioned, “Don’t let them darken your heart.” “Don’t let them snuff out your light.”

Trials are just moments. As tough as they can be, the power and control they have over us depends on us. We choose the impact…..for good or bad, light or dark, growth or not. We have control unless we choose to give it away. We have a choice. We always have a choice.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……

-Meditate/pray….ask….”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Stay in your light. Choose to let your light deflect darkness.

What made me smile yesterday……

-Alex happy to be back on the “boat.”

-Aunt Dorothy’s 100th birthday. She looked great and really enjoyed the celebration.

-Almost all of her family and friends came. I am still excited for her.

-She barely picks at her food anymore but she ate ALL of her cake and ice cream yesterday. Wahoo! Loved it.

-Lunch with Caden, Ginger, Kerri, Shannon and Bruce before the party. Thanks, Ginger.

-What a Happy Day!

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
