For  your consideration……

I admit I was very surprised by today’s message because we just  had a message on compassion. So I sat with it for a long time asking “Really?” Do you really want me to do another message on compassion? Clearly the answer is yes.

We are asked a question? Is God ever without compassion? I think most of us…myself definitely included….would say no. God is the epitome of compassion. He is always compassionate with every one of his creations.

Today’s message tells us that there was a time when God was without compassion. In Lamentation 2:3, the Judgment on Jerusalem, we are told God acted without compassion on all the dwellings of Jacob. Why is this pointed out to us today? It is to remind us that where there is judgment there is NO compassion…..ever.

We are not talking about degrees here. It is simple. If there is even a breath, a single thought or a tiny word of judgment, compassion is tainted and can not thrive.

We are called to be compassionate, like God, to all living things. To do that, we must suspend our judgment.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray….ask….”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Suspend judgment.

What made me smile yesterday……

-Skyping with Alex.

-Bruce vacuumed for me.

-Lots of birthday wishes.

-A lazy day.

-Shannon took us out to dinner.

-Mac baked my peanut butter cookies.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
