For your consideration……

Today’s message makes so much sense to me. For me it ties spirituality to our human experience. It brings the right brain and left brain together as it should because we are all part of both and the whole Oneness.

For the sake of the message today, consider God the head of the major conglomerate….a corporation with many companies under it. Consider each of us as the CEO of one of those companies.

The head of any successful corporation checks on each of his companies regularly. A business plan has been set with clear measurables. Every body is on the same page. Periodically each of the companies report in on how they are doing. Adjustments are made where needed. Goals are added, changed or deleted. One of those major check-in times is at the beginning of a new business year.

I used to work with a woman, Cheryl Kennedy. Her husband, Joe Kennedy, was/is a very successful businessman. He was a VP of Saturn and went on to become CEO of E-Loan and Pandora radio. I tell you this story because every January I think of her. Clearly, income was not an issue. When we worked together, they did not yet have children. Yet, every January Joe asked Cheryl for her budget for the year. I remember the first time she told me this. How strange it seemed. Just like at Saturn their house set their yearly budget. We would just have a good laugh over it. It seemed stressful to me but Cheryl explained it as anything but. They had categories for everything from house expenses to hair care. It wasn’t a point of contention. It was simply a stake in the ground in their plan for the year. They had always done it and over the years it had become ordinary even somewhat fun.

I tell you that story because we are being asked to do an expanded version of that. As head of our company, we need to assess where we are, figure out what is working and what isn’t, notice what can be improved, expand our business plan looking for new opportunities etc.

To do that we have to be willing to look at our “categories” or “departments.” Are we organized the right way? Should health and nutrition be under the “meals” department? Or should it be reversed or even a department of its own? Are we budgeting to live or living to budget? Is “Charity” a department of its own,  a category in another department, handled under petty cash or not part of our plan at all?

You get the message. We are CEO of our life. What are our priorities? Are they as valid as they were last year? What needs to change? What needs to expand? What is going great as it is?

As CEO it is up to us to put our “business plan” in place and budget accordingly. We are to do this with the “conglomerate’s” business plan in mind, making sure our goals are in sync.  Making sure it is aligned with the Universe’s business plan and God approves and has blessed it.

That is what we are being asked to do. How we think about it depends on us. Is it a chore and something we want to put off? Or are we like Joe and Cheryl? We meet our task on time and have fun doing it. Remember, we don’t have to do this alone. We have a lot of people working with/for us…..our Guidance…..anxiously waiting for us to ask them for their input.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray….ask….”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Review you “plan”, sync it up with the Universe’s and move forward accordingly.

What made me smile yesterday…….

-Bruce says, “It’s icy out. Do you want to drive me to the store?”

“Why do you want me to drive?” I ask.

“Because you are a fearless driver.” I drove him but don’t think I will hesitate to remind him of his comment next time he complains about my driving.

-We did not have to go out for anything else.

-Emailing back and forth with Alex. Oh….how she makes me laugh….even when she doesn’t mean to.

-A start on cleaning up my basement work area.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
