Chorus from Diamond Rio song “Meet in the Middle”

“I start walkin your way you start walkin mine
we meet in the middle neath that old Georgia pine
We gain a lot of ground cuz we both give a little
aint no road to long when we meet in the middle”

For your consideration…..

I know I’ve said it often but I’ll say it again. I love when I hear a song to point me in the direction of our message.

Our message today tells us that too often we go to our “perspective corners.” We know we are right. We feel justified and motivated to stand our ground. We are sure it is our “battle” to fight and we must stand firm.

For the point of today’s message let us assume that we are correct. Now we are asked how are we going to champion our cause standing in our corner?

Today we are asked to consider finding ways to “meet in the middle.” We are not asked to concede what we know is right. We are simply being asked to find some middle ground to start the discussion. Perhaps middle ground is something completely non related. Perhaps it is through different people.

We are all part of the same one. There is no possible way that we do not have any common ground. We are asked to consider that and start walking towards the middle to find it. Establishing common ground and mutual respect and love creates an avenue to problem solving and creating a solid foundation for our future.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……

-Meditate/pray….ask “What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of the Universe?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Go play. Laugh out loud.

What made me smile yesterday…….

-Watching AJ and his team play two awesome baseball games. Fun.

-An afternoon nap.

-Seeing accomplished Seniors receive their scholarships from the Captain C. Robert Arvin Foundation.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
