For your consideration……

Today’s message came in immediately but I sat with it a long time because I really didn’t want to write part of it. Finally, after getting no where, I realized I was losing the debate and got up to write. Before I blog each day, I draw a card for myself and journal the message specific to me. The card today was “Angel of Communication”, an affirmation to do as I am asked.

Evidently, I missed part of yesterday’s message on pigeon-holing. It needed to be drilled down more. I get that. No problem. I can do that. The problem comes in with the examples I was given. This blog is not a place for politics so I don’t use political examples. Today I feel like the first example I have been given is sort of political and maybe even the second. So bear with me until the end. This message is for women. And it is an important one.

The first example of pigeon-holing and how dangerous and unfair it is was the Tea Party. The reality is that the Tea Party is made up of both Republicans and Democrats who are fed up with each party. They are not the extremists. The Democrats do not want them and were anxious to declare them Republican because some Republicans supported them. The Republican party does not want them and so they labeled them extremists which the Democrats were more than happy to agree with. See they are pigeon-holed when that is exactly what they are fighting against.

That is a modern-day example. Drilling on down we are given another example of right idea but pigeon-holed into separation. I am talking about the women’s movement from the sixties. Was it needed. Absolutely. Was it successful. Absolutely. Could it have done more? Would the world be a better place if it did not pigeon-hole women. Absolutely. The women’s movement like unions, like the Tea Party etc. was created to fill a need. They were absolutely necessary.

Where it fell apart is when the expectation is that its members must share the all the same views, hold all the same values. They tell you how you should live your life and what is supposed to give it value. They tell you how to vote. They set your priorities. And if you disagree, you are not a true member. You feel separated. Consequently the women’s movement did/does a lot of great work but most women do not join it. They feel it does not value their personal values and priorities.

Here is the part of the message that is so important and why it was insisted that the above examples be used. Women must stand up. Women all over the world must stand up. The world will not change unless the other half of the population (women) stand up and take at least 50% of the responsibility for running the world. Women of the USA, Canada, Great Britain, women who are free, it is easier for us so we must take the lead and help the rest of our sisters of the world.

We are reminded that groups will try to sidetrack us by pigeon-holing us but we are not to be side tracked. Each of us is to stand on the personal values, priorities, HOPEs and dreams that we have as individuals. Like sticks and stones, labels will not hurt us.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……

-Meditate/pray….stay in touch with your truth and your life purpose.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Stand up. Stand in your power. Take your place in the world.

What made me smile yesterday……..

-I woke from a dream and acted on it and it worked out perfectly.

-A morning choke full of tasks…..all completed.

-Wonderful and fun students.

-An early bed.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
