For your consideration…….

Today I was asked to recall a conversation I had with a student. I recognized it immediately because I have told the story many times. The actual story involved a conversation a classroom was having amongst themselves. They were talking about their fear that the world was going to end. At one point a young woman very quietly says to me,

“I am just going to repent, repent, repent everyday.”

I said with a motherly smile (I HOPE) in an equally quiet voice, “What on earth do you have to repent?”

“Oh, a lot.” she says.

At that point I said, “I think the very best way to repent is not in the looking back but instead to make this moment the very best it can be.”

There was an immediate “click”. I could see the relief, light and gratitude in her eyes as she said, “Yeah!”

Here is what we are being asked to consider today. Reflection is good. It indicates we are drawing on  experience, memories or lessons learned. It is “positive”. It shows we are growing and maturing.

Regrets are the opposite. Regrets are indicators that we have unfinished business. We are carrying around baggage. No one is perfect. We all have moments in our life we are not proud of. But to make this moment the best it can be we must not bring that baggage to it.

How do we let it go? We simply ask with a sincere heart that our transgression be forgiven and healed for the highest good of all. Then we “LET IT GO.” Our Creator is a genius. He is the ultimate intelligence. He recognizes the sincere spirit and request the “FIRST” time we ask. And it is taken care of at that moment, unless WE choose to hold on to it.

Today’s message asks that we let go of the baggage of regrets.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray. Take care of what bubbles up.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths. Notice Mother Earth and Father Sky. What changes have they for us today?

-Write down regrets as they arise. Rewrite them as an affirmation of growth and purpose. Then rip up or burn the regret as you ask for your healing.

What made me smile yesterday…….

-Church with my friend, Jackie.

-Meeting new people and pulling in new enlightenment.

-A relaxing brunch with Jackie.

-Errands done, check.

-We finally heard from the traveling daughter, Alex.

-AJ’s “new” room. His vision is now a reality and he is a happy boy.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
