For your consideration…

Our blog message came in early this morning but I am just now sitting down to write it. I am glad I waited because I went to a concert with my friend, Vickie, this afternoon and I was hit with a statement that I knew was also meant for today.

The statement was, “We listen differently to music than how we listen to Mother Nature.” It is a great example of today’s message, “We listen differently to those we love, know, and/or strangers.” The question is should we?

We listen to those we love with our whole self. We listen on a soul level. We listen for the feelings the are attached to the words. What if we did that with all people? What if we listened for their feelings as well as their words? I think this saying by Harriet Lerner best describes our message.

“Whole-hearted listening is the greatest spiritual gift you can give to another person.”

We are asked to try to put this into practice. It costs us nothing but offers the world a big reward.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are a light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Practice whole-hearted listening with everyone.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-I could literally see a difference in the tress blooming in the morning and night.

-Lunch with Shannon, Mac, and Alex.

-List and Beef came for a visit.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
