For your consideration…

Our message is simple. “Don’t wait.”

Don’t save the good china. Use them often. Don’t save that new outfit for a special occasion. Wear it now. Don’t wait to pick up the phone and call whoever is on  your mind. Do it now. Don’t wait for company to cook that special dinner. Cook it for yourself.

You get the point but our message wants to make it very clear that we are not guaranteed tomorrow.

Also, it want us to remember that WE are important. We deserve to be treated special and celebrated. When I was a child, there were some great TV shows. The Donna Reed show was given to me today as an example. Like in most TV shows in that time, Donna Reed was a homemaker. Everyday she was dressed up in a beautiful dress with heels as she presented a beautiful meal for her family. Not realistic, I understand. It wasn’t realistic then either. But still, the subtle message is clear. You, your family, and home deserve the best. There is no need to wait for special occasions. Today is as good a day as any to cook a great dinner, dress up, use the good china, light the candles, etc…any or all of it. Don’t wait to do what makes your feel special and celebrated.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of the light. Wherever you go, there can be no darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Don’t wait. Start working on that bucket list.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-The University of Michigan Music Society’s Halloween Concert. Sooo good. Sooo fun.

-Catching up with Alex.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
