For your consideration…

This message came in via an incident I had last week. I struggled with it for a few reasons trying to figure out how I could write this morning.

Last week I went to lunch with my sister-in-law. As we left, I googled the nearest Costco. It turns out there was one virtually next door to where I was. So in I went. I ended up with a lot of stuff before I even started on my list. As I roamed, I met a woman over the lobster tails. As we bemoaned about their price. Somehow that turned into the prices in Florida and how it is no longer the affordable vacation we grew up with. Ultimately, it turned into the state of the country which turned into political comments. So this is why I struggled with our message. I try very hard not to listen to much news and definitely do not do politics here.

While I agreed with most of her comments, I tried hard not to do much commenting of my own. Do I think the President has dementia and wonder who is running the country? Do I think the country has a right to know? These were some of the questions Barb asked me. Personally, I agree with her but that is not what is important for the blog. Why I kept asking am I being asked to write about this today?

The discomfort and the struggle is what our message is about. Everyone deserves to be heard. Everyone should have freedom of speech without being shamed. Everyone deserves kindness. Clearly, Barb, feels like we have lost that. And she is right. We should not live in fear and have to hide our thoughts, ideas, and words.

We need each other. All of us need each other. We need to hear one another and above all we need to be kind to every person in every situation, whatever their opinion.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Remember…You are the keeper of light. Wherever you go there can be o darkness.

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be kind..always.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A beautiful day.

-A day off.

-Lots of writing done.

-Yeah, my final eye doctor appointment until December.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings, and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
