Mindfulness: why observing your thoughts can change your life - LiveMore
Our message today tells us that as we learn and grow, move forward, there are times when we need to hit the pause button. There are times when we need to take a step back and observe.
Remember that saying, “Think before you speak.” Today’s message reminds us that there is truth to that statement. Not every situation is an emergency requiring immediate action. In fact, that is not normally the case. If we are fully present in the moment, we recognize when we need to stop and think about the situation…when can take a step back and think about what is going really going on. What is real and what is not?  What is  behind the attitude? What is the real motive and intention, etc.?
Too often we have a “knee jerk” reaction because we do not fully understand the feelings, attitude, intention, etc. We react rather than taking a step back and observing to figure it out. We react rather that stepping back and seeing from a different view point, angle, or perspective. This serves no one well. It is in the highest good of no one.
We are reminded that to use our pause button whenever we are unclear, angry, anxious, etc.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.,
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…
-Affirm…“I am loved.”
Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Don’t let our “pause” button get rusty.
What made me smile yesterday…
-A beautiful sunny day in Barcelona.
-Cathy and I met up with my granddaughter, Mackenzie. We had a great day dining and being tourists.
– Good book.
-I finally broke down and bought a warmer coat. Suffice to say I did not pack wisely.
Love, Blessings, and Graitude,
Rev. Chris
